Seven Fall Coat Trends

As the season begins to cool down it’s time to pul out your fall attire.  A coat or outerwear becomes an essential piece to consider as you work on your wardrobe plan. There’s something altogether luxurious and easy about a coat that you can slip into on your way out the door, knowing it completes your outfit effortlessly — it hardly even matters what you’ve got on underneath. With that in mind, it’s worth investing in the right one, and we’ve done our homework so you can feel good about your purchase. From puffers with a streetwear feel to more glamorous wool coats with textured accents, these trends are the ones that’ll be big this season (but won’t feel tired after only a couple of wears).

The trends for 2021 include the following style categories: Textured Accents, Capes, Fuzzy/Shearling, Leather, Ponchos, Puffers, Quilted, and Wraps, There are enough style choices to complement your uniqueness.

Textured Accents
With furry accents at the collar and sleeves, coats get a glam update this season. The look is slightly disco, though rest assured, it can be easily pared down with jeans, tees, and sneakers. In short, you’ll get your money’s worth when you dress it up or down, no matter the occasion.

Capes, Ponchos and Wraps
It’s all about volume with these silhouettes. Ponchos and capes made a comeback on the runways, and the look is easy to pull off.  Just throw on and go — and belt at the waist to tame the proportions if you prefer.

Fuzzy Coats
Fuzzy all-over coats are taking over this season, and what’s not to love? With furry textures, these are made for cuddling up or staying warm on the go. And did we mention they look good with just about everything? If you’re looking to invest in a style that’ll see you stylishly through the coldest months, this is the way to go.

Leather Coats
Longline leather coats get a fresh upgrade in a swath of new colors — like pastels and gem tones. Whatever iteration you choose, this outerwear will provide the sleek finish to any outfit.

Puffers
Puffers lend a sporty, streetwear spin to any outfit, but the best part is just how warm these jackets are. With statement-making silhouettes, hues, and prints, these puffers are far from basic.

Quilted
Like the more understated cousin of the puffer, these quilted styles lend warmth but without major padding. Instead, quilting is a bit more discreet and easy to layer up under a wool coat or over a denim jacket.

Classics
You can never go wrong when selecting a classic wool-blend, wool or cashmere coat. The design is timeless, in a neutral tone, and constructed with the best textiles. Classics are appropriate for business, casual and formal wear.
